I find this political season very entertaining and one of the most negative presidential campaigns in my life time. It ceases to amaze me why anyone would want to run for political office. In American history the symbol of the donkey and the elephant has represented the Democratic and Republican party since 1828. Political cartoonists of the time can be credited with perpetuating these symbols which grew out of negative comments and were published in magazines such as Harpers Weekly. Since we are engulfed in such a negative political environment, I try to find a bit of humor in it all.
In this photomontage the last picture that I needed to complete this piece was a portrait of a donkey. I found a donkey rescue ranch in Plymouth, California, and Sarah, the owner was nice enough to let me get up close and personal to photograph these very friendly critters.
