I started a new series called, "A Simpler time". The process starts with a vintage photograph that I scan and it becomes the main focus of the photomontage. I always include many images that I take to create a surreal dream like scene. This year I will have some of the images in this series on display at my open studio. I hope to see you there.
Available at High Hand Gallery
I'm proud to have my photograph accepted in this prestigious show. Out of 1,500 entries only 75 artists were chosen.

Starting on July 1, 2014 Vincent's photographic work will be available at the High-Hand Art Gallery in Loomis, California. Vincent is known for his photographic montages, many of which have a surrealistic look. Occasionally he strays from making collage images and creates a straight photograph with no manipulation.
In his photograph called "Koi" he did a study of the Koi being fed in the fish pond at the High Hand Nursery in Loomis California. He says, "I began watching the kids feed the Koi in the fish pond. There was a fish frenzy to get the extra food and the kids were having a great time feeding them. I watched and photographed the Koi for quite some time and was lucky enough to get this shot of all the Koi smiling at the same time".
One of these limited edition prints will be featured on the KVIE auction in September. There are 25 images in each edition. Other editions of Koi will be available at the BlueLine Gallery in Roseville, California starting on July 19, 2014, and the High-Hand Art Gallery in Loomis.
Photography has traditionally been seen as a medium that documents an honest portrayal of the world. This definition has been turned upside down by technology and a generation of photographers that have taken it upon themselves to test this convention.
Vincent DiLeo is one of the many photographers who fully embrace digital tools and experimental methods that supersede Photoshop.
He begins the process by combining multiple photographs and high resolution scans of found objects. Photoshop and Illustrator are then used to create the final image. Some of his recent abstract work include the use of his cell phone to create images as a basis for some of his abstract photographs.
Vincent’s colorful abstract collage photographs are a study of light, reflection and color. They will be featured in an exhibition called "Is This Really Photography" on view on Mother's Day May 10-11, 2014. This is a free event open to the public.
This exhibition will take place at the artists home gallery and is part of the North Auburn Art Studios Tour. For a map of the participating artists see: www.northauburnartists.com. or visit www.vincentdileo.com.

This year there were 1,200 entries enteredinto the California State Fair Fine Art Competition. Of those, I was one of the lucky 180 artists selected to showcase my work. The award of merit is for a new work that I titled, Enjoying The Day. Last years award at the State Fair was for a phototitled Ghost Ship.
Enjoying The Day was entered into the Digital Art category and judged by Don Button, Professor, Graphic Communication Department, Sacramento City College. It can be seen at the California State Fair from July 8-24, 2016, and is also available for sale at the High Hand Art Gallery located in Loomis, California. The awards ceremony takes place on Saturday, July 9, 2016at the California State Fair.
I have been working on this new series of photographs since the beginning of 2016 and plan to have a gallery exhibit in May of 2017 that will be called, A Simpler Time. All of the photos in this series will include a scan of a vintage photograph and scans of small objects to be placed in the scene . I then use Photoshop to composite my own photographs into the scene to create a surreal fantasy world. More details about this exhibit will be posted on my website afterDecember 2016
