Canvas
These canvas prints are created with a state-of-the-art inkjet printer using archival pigmented inks. The printers are capable of reproducing fine detail and rich saturated colors. They are said to last over 100 years. Each canvas print is sprayed with a protective clear finish that protects and prevents the color from fading.
In addition each art print is mounted on a birch panel that has been gessoed and sealed before the canvas is stretched and gallery wrapped around the frame. This type of frame gives a solid protective back for your canvas art print.
I find these solid centered frames much more durable than the soft centered canvas wrap that we most often see.
These canvas wrapped prints are ready to hang on any wall. Each print is signed on the back of the frame by the artist. Also, on the back of the frame is attached a Certificate of Authenticity with its limited edition number on it and the story behind the photograph.
Many of my collage images have a story behind them. The idea for the photograph "Time" came during a dream one night.
The concept of creating dreamscapes began during the British Petroleum Oil spill. As this disaster began to unfold my need to know more about it increased. Every TV channel and news source covered this story and there was no shortage of information.
Sometimes too much information is not a good thing. My dreams began to erupt with fields of oil and colorful landscapes of transmission fluid. I began to ask myself, how can I turn these vivid dreams into photographs? Then one day a friend suggested that I create a collage photograph of an oil slick using seagulls.
This began my quest to create photographs from my dreams. Each of the canvas prints come with their own story attached to the back of the frame.
